The Chennai-based software engineer went on to enlist the hardships he faced while on the job and said that it’s not an easy one.

  • Delivery location is not properly mentioned by the customer,
  • Phone numbers are not updated properly,
  • Sometimes cannot locate a restaurant if we are new to the location. Even You can’t find it easily when using google maps too
  • Long-distance delivery location, (I received an order to deliver 14 K.M from order picked a location, That was my third order in 3 hours online time and that was the last order too)
  • Fewer orders are received even in Hotspot locations and peak times (I received only 3 orders in 3 hours’ time)
  • Finally, Petrol prices hike day by day

Oh, man!! It was not an easy job which We/I thought.

Going forward with his experience, he wrote that people, including his family, thought that a delivery person’s job is disrespectful and urged that we need to change this mindset.

Many people are thinking the delivery boy’s job is disrespectful even when I said to my family they said first no. You are working in IT then why do you prefer to go. We need to change this mindset.

No job is easy and no job is disrespectful. If we love what we are doing that would be the best job in this world. I respect and salute the people who all choose this as a career.

Zomato – Please help/support our warriors. I have seen some notifications where you are planning to help with a petrol price hike. Really appreciate that. Keep helping them.

I am sharing this as my own experience. Not to point out anyone.

People patted his back for writing such an honest post. Those who were in his shoes also shared their experiences.

It’s heartwarming to see people finally appreciating everyone’s labour and acknowledging the fact that whatever the profession is, we need each other to function smoothly.
