There’s no denying the fact that we’ve all been punished by our teachers during school days. They pinched and pulled our ears for not completing the homework, or whacked us on the butt with a wooden plank to name the worst form of punishments we were given.
But schools have become pretty creative with the punishments nowadays. While some opt for detentions and stern boring lectures to discipline their kids, a few others might go too far with cruelty.
Despite the strict rules that prohibit any kind of physical or mental torture on students, a case of utter brutality on a class 6 student has come to light in Madhya Pradesh.
A Navodaya Vidyalaya teacher asked 14 of his students to slap one of their classmates two times each for six continuous days. Thus, making the total count to 168 slaps in six days.
Reason?
She did not complete her homework!
Owing to the continuous torture, the kid remained depressed for months after the incident, reported Dainik Bhaskar.
“After she returned from the school, she was very tense and depressed. She told us about the entire incident after we repeatedly asked her about her condition,” the victim’s father said.
The incident, however, happened in January but came to light only when her father reported the matter to the police recently. Police have held the accused, identified as Manoj Verma. Assistant District Prosecution Officer and Media cell in-charge, Varsha Jain assured that strict action will be taken against the accused. They have also rejected his bail plea.
Many teachers even the unruly ones contribute their remarkable share in educating children in a completely sane and kind way. But some go way beyond the limits of cruelty to discipline the children. And, the law should certainly teach such inhumane people a lesson for life!
