German Triathlete Gobbles Down 100 Plates Of Sushi At All-You-Can-Eat Restaurant, Gets Banned!

I used to often wonder how these unlimited food offers and ‘All-you-can-eat’ buffets made money for the restaurants that hosted them. Eventually of course, I realised that there were tactics to that too. The thing about such buffets is, you need quite the appetite or be accompanied by someone who can really eat, to actually get your money’s worth. And how will you know you’ve managed to do that? Well, ask this German triathlete!

A German triathlete was banned from returning to an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant because they claimed he ate too much!

According to Business Insider, Running Sushi in Landshut, Bavaria, was offering an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet for just  €15.90 (approx Rs. 1330). However, Jaroslav Bobrowski, a 30-year-old German triathlete, managed to eat a lot more than they’d expected, forcing them to ask him to not return!

He polished off roughly 100 plates of sushi (each plate serving some 2-3 pieces) from the revolving carousel! The restaurant was left trying to manage their other guests who kept asking if there was any more sushi left for them!

Jaroslav Bobrowski is a triathlete who used to compete in the Ironman competitions and is a bodybuilder as well. He also works as a software engineer and a trainer. His massive appetite is the result of a special diet he is on.

The 5 ft 7 in tall and 79 kg weighing athlete told Passauer Neue Presse that he is on a special diet which involves fasting for 20 hours at a stretch. When it is time to break his fast, he eats all he can till he feels full.

On one particular Saturday, to break his fast, Bobrowski walked over to a his regular joint, Running Sushi, for a meal.

According to what he told a local paper, the staff let him finish his meal in peace. But when he went to pay his bill, he was courteously informed that he should not return.

Of course, Bobrowski was quite taken aback. He had eaten here regularly before, but he did realise that this meal was huge compared to his previous ones because of his diet. And the tried to make up for it as well.

He told The Local Germany,

“When I went to the checkout, I wanted to tip, but the waiter did not want to accept that. I was told by the restaurant’s owner and chef that I’m banned from now on because I’m eating too much. I was stunned.”

The owner who banned Bobrowski from his restaurant told the local newspaper that Bobrowski’s eating capacity was bad for their business.

The 25-year-old host Tan Le said,

“He eats for five, that’s not normal. I myself am dead after 13 plates, but he always took five or seven plates at a time”

The owner also explained that while the buffet was priced so low, the restaurant earned major money on the alcohol that customers order along with their food. However, Bobrowski didn’t even give them that, drinking only tea along with his meal!

The incident came to light after Bobrowski posted a complaint on social media and it went viral. He’s being called the Sushi Man and Sushi Wolverine! He now seems to have found a different restaurant to satiate his hunger!

Talk about having a paisa vasool appetite but being banned from the buffet for it!
