Sunny’s Post About Why She’s Proud Of Her Past, Is The Most Poised Answer To Haters. *claps*

Being judgemental and Indian seems to go hand in hand. This especially applies to our women, some are judged if they show too much skin, some judge if they show too little. Some are judged if women smoke, drink and have physical relations, others call them prudes if they don’t.

One of our leading leadies of the film industry who gets more hate than others is Sunny Leone. It seems that whatever the actor does, people just can’t seem to get over her past.

Recently, the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene, a youth group, protested against an event Sunny Leone was to perform at and demanded that it be canceled. They said it was an assault on their culture and threatened to commit mass suicide to protest against it.

As a result of all the commotion, Sunny decided to cancel her performance. The police in Bangaluru refused to ensure her own and her team’s safety.

She also responded by saying, “To all those who protested and to all those who supported, always remember, never allow others to speak and choose for you. Have your own voice and make your own choices. You are the youth and you are the NEW INDIA! Stand Proud and Stand together. I love you all dearly!”

But after all this, Sunny will now be performing in London on Christmas according to Bombay Times.

In the midst of controversy, Sunny has always kept her head high and shut down trolls in the most dignified way. She recently posted a group of pictures of the most legendary yesteryear actors saying,

“A few women in Bollywood who have taught me that it’s perfectly ok to be myself.”

These women were confident in their bodies and didn’t let society’s pressure get to them. They wore anything they wanted without letting the hate of “showing too much skin” get to them.

People have been outraged to such an extent with Sunny’s past that everything she does seems to get connected with it. From her outfit choices to the performances she does, everything she does attracts criticism.

And the trolls seem to get crasser every time. From calling her derogatory names to using the worst abuses for her, some of the comments are downright disgusting. People seem to have not been able to get over her adult film career (which she has not hidden or isn’t ashamed of, just BTW). And you know what, it’s high time we did!

Even when she and her husband, Daniel adopted their baby girl, Nisha, trolls had the most sickening things to say about her. But she won the battle once again by giving the most poised reply, talking about how she was going to raise her daughter. She said,

“Daniel and I will focus on teaching her to be an independent woman who can become the President if she wants to, or a doctor, artist, or a beekeeper (laughs). The world is her oyster and Daniel and I are here to help all her dreams come true.”

I don’t understand why we are so outraged by strong-willed and independent women? Reeking of misogyny and sexism some of the people’s comments on Sunny Leone’s posts are appalling. I don’t know why people think it to be okay to say hurtful things to another human.

We need to start seeing the star for her gorgeous soul and her bright mind. Can we finally move past her past? And things people post behind the screens of social media say more about the kind of humans they are than anything else.

And Sunny, haters gonna hate! Your poised responses prove that you’re a force to be reckoned with and you maybe inspired by these yesteryear actors but I’m inspired by you! ❤
