Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma has often been targeted by sexist trolls online every time Virat Kohli’s cricketing performance is in question, but she had bravely countered the hate by posting an inspiring message. Virat too hit back at those who made fun of her with a message on his Instagram handle.
As per a report in News18, in the current season of IPL, Virat Kohli-led team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced a 97-run defeat against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on September 24 in Dubai. Kohli also issued a statement regarding the same on the RCB Instagram handle:-
RCB had a nightmarish start as skipper Virat dropped 2 sitters of KXIP captain KL Rahul who went on to score a century (an unbeaten 132 off 69 balls) which is the highest score ever by an Indian batsman in the IPL. Furthermore, while batting, Virat could only manage 1 run off 5 balls before being sent back by Sheldon Cottrell.
And much to everyone’s disappointment, vile trolls online started posting memes and ‘joking’ about Anushka’s pregnancy:-

Reportedly, Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Sunil Gavaskar, who was present in the commentary box, passed a tasteless remark on Anushka Sharma while criticizing Virat’s performance.
