While people and organizations around the world are keeping their best foot forward to spread awareness about bullying in schools, horrifying cases of the same refuse to stop. Another terrible case of teenage bullying has recently come to light in Indonesia.
According to a report by Jakarta Post, two high school students who were in charge of hygiene at the Mother of All Nations Catholic seminary school in East Nusa Tenggara Province found a bag full of human faeces in a cupboard.
The students then gathered their juniors in a room in a bid to find out the person behind the matter but nobody came forward to own it up. Hence, the seniors allegedly forced their juniors to eat the faeces from the packet and threatened them to not tell anyone about it.
But one of the students informed his parents about the incident who reported it on the school WhatsApp group. Later on, it was discovered that the faeces belonged to a student who could not make it to the washroom on time and so had to use plastic bag in emergency, reports NY Post.
“The [school] has decided to expel the two students,” the school’s director, Father Deodatus Du’u, said in a statement. “We humbly conveyed our deepest apologies to all parties, especially to the parents and families of the students in this incident,” he added.
The Father, however, claimed that ‘students did not eat the faeces but it just touched their lips and mouth’. One of the students’ parents also reportedly removed their kid from the school following the incident. “It would be better to move and start over at another school,” he said.
We hope strict action is taken against such students for their utter shameful actions.
