In a world of right and left swipes, of hookups and breakups, I see my parents and am reminded of what true love is. Love is not always date nights, flowers and candles. Unconditional love is putting the other person’s well-being before yours and doing everything in your power to make sure they are okay.
For example, one guy on Twitter shared how his mother donated a kidney to his father after he went through 98 dialysis sessions. She would wait for him for 5-6 hours for 3 days a week in the hospital.

In the end, it was she with the help of healthcare professionals, who saved him from his misery and now both of them are living happily ever after.
“I don’t know of a better love story,” the guy wrote.

Several people online showered immense praise and love on the couple. While some who have been through similar situations shared their stories, others were just in awe of the kind of relationship the husband and the wife shared.
That’s really nice. my dad donated to my mom.

Wish both of them a healthy & happy life. Every story like this feels personal since I’ve lost a parent due to kidney failure. I hope one day Indian medical system will prioritise health of normal people as they do for VIPs. We got the date for transplant after 1 year. Late

Think this is what is love. Hope the hospital has a video recording of all this which can make a nice documentary.

The guy also shared that both his parents, who are almost 70 years of age, are now the oldest kidney donor and recipient, respectively, at the Kochi hospital, where the transplant took place, reported Indian Express. He also stressed the importance of organ donation and claimed that more than 50,000 patients are waiting for a kidney transplant.
For his parents, it took two months of intense testing before the doctor could give them clearance as not just their age but their cardiac health was also a factor.
Our generation has a lot to learn about relationships, their sanctity and the kind of sacrifices that are made to sustain those relationships and see the other person happy and healthy. 🙂
