Guy Shares Story About The Time He Made His Dad Cry And Now We’re All Crying

Given the widespread gender roles established by our societies, boys are supposed to be strong, discouraged from crying, whereas women are encouraged to be fragile and expressive. But even the most so-called ‘masculine’ men may not be able to hold back their tears when something really joyous or terrible happens. Because obviously, we all are humans irrespective of imposed regressive gender roles.

Like this dad right here. When his grown-up son, Han, asked him if he ever made him cry, the father calmly responded with a worded answer – “Once.”

Han told Bored Panda about the time when he made his dad cry and he doesn’t even remember it because he was too young to know. The story melted our hearts and it will warm yours too.

Soon after his story, people started sharing their own experiences of seeing their dad cry.

1. Breaks my heart reading it, can’t imagine how he must have felt.

2. No matter how old you become, moving away from family will always make your parents cry.

3. He probably knew he’d not get to say it again later. *sob*

4. But it’s a good generation to be alive in, where men and women alike can cry or laugh as they please.

5. Has to be tears of joy and love.

As kids, our parents try to keep us away from sorrow as much as they can, and it starts with their ability to not cry in front of us. But once in a while, they let it slip and the tears are free-flowing. If the occasion is a happy one, your heart will swell with joy. But on the other hand, it is really painful to see a parent cry of sadness.

We might be busy with our lives and achieving our goals, but meanwhile, our parents are ageing. And it’s time we make sure that the only time they ever cry is out of utter pride and happiness, nothing else.
