Shabana Azmi To Star In A Steven Spielberg Web Series Based On ‘Halo’ & We Can’t Wait!

Shabana Azmi, the epitome of grace and charm who has been effortlessly portraying each of her characters on the silver screen. Often inspired by real-life characters, Azmi is all set to spread her magic again, but this time in an international web series.

The 68 year-old actor will be seen starring in the drama series based on popular science fiction video game, Halo. The series is the adaptation of the popular video game with the same name.

The veteran actor has reportedly boarded the cast of Showtime series Halo to be produced by Steven Spielberg and Amblin Entertainment.

“The 10-episode series, based on the best-selling Xbox franchise, will dramatise the 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, as well as weaving personal stories with action and adventure,” Showtime said in a statement.

The series that is scheduled to begin its production by the end of this year in Budapest, will be directed by Otto Bathurst. Azmi will be seen playing Admiral Margaret Parangosky, the head of the Office of Naval Intelligence. The 10-episode series also features Natascha McElhone, Bokeem Woodbine, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, and Kate Kennedy.

It is not the first time that Azmi is going to charm the international audiences. She has also been a part of many international projects like the City of Joy, Son of Pink Panther, Madame Sousatzka, Banglatown Banquet, among others.

While Azmi plans to work with Faraz Arif Ansari’s forthcoming LGBTQ drama Sheer Kurma, we cannot wait to see her in the adaptation of the legendary video-game produced by none other than Steven Spielberg!
