Even today, a great number of Indian families place more importance on getting a woman married than getting her educated. You will find parents and elder siblings saving money for years for a girl’s marriage, and in many cases, for the dowry that comes along with it.
However, actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently took to Instagram to share an important note on this subject, reports Hindustan Times. She appealed to parents to make their daughters capable and invest in their education instead of saving money for their wedding.

“Make your daughter so capable that you don’t have to worry who will marry her. Instead of saving money for her wedding day, spend it on her education and most importantly, instead of preparing her for marriage, prepare her for herself. Teach her self-love, confidence, and that she can throat punch someone if she needs to.”
