Names of big banners and celebrities often crop up with plagiarism accusations. For instance, Nora Fatehi responded to claims that her music video for ‘Pachtaoge’ is copied from Beyonce’s ‘Mine’ or how Badshah sent Rs. 5 lakh to ‘Boroloker Bitilo’ lyricist Ratan Kahar after plagiarism accusations.
As per a report in News18, Rapper Krishna Kaul a.k.a. KR$NA took to Twitter to allege that this year’s IPL (Indian Premier League) anthem called ‘Aayenge Hum Wapas’ has been lifted from his 2017 song titled ‘Dekh Kaun Aaya Wapas’. He claimed that he was neither credited for it nor was any consent sought from him before releasing the 2020 anthem. he requested fellow artists and friends to retweet his claim as well. The IPL had launched its 2020 theme song called ‘Aayenge Hum Waapas‘ on Sunday with a caption that read, “The greater the setback…The stronger the comeback.” The music video depicts cricket fans from many parts of the country getting ready to watch the tournament and has already generated lakhs of views on all platforms including YouTube and Twitter.
