Pune Man Puts Up 300 Hoardings To Apologise To Girlfriend, Police Registers Case

It’s natural for people to feel attracted towards someone and fall in love with them. Additionally, it’s quite alright to go to extreme lengths to display your liking for your beloved. But, since it’s common knowledge that love also makes a fool out of people, one should put up some restrictions before they do something that they’ll regret looking back. Case in point, Nilesh Khedekar from Pune.

According to DNA India, 25-year-old Nilesh Khedekar had covered Pune with hoardings in an attempt to apologise to his girlfriend. A police officer from Wakad police station said,

“Khedekar told that he had some differences with his girlfriend whom he called ‘Shivde’. In order to apologise to her he came up with this idea of putting up hoardings and banners in the area where she stays. Khedekar roped in his friend to execute the plan.”

That’s right. Khedekar, who’s a MBA aspirant, put up 300 hoardings and banners with a white background that had the message ‘Shivde, I am sorry’. While the big heart in the boards and a bill of ₹72,000 might look cute to some hopeless romantics, in reality, it defaced the Pimple Saudagar area of Pimpri Chinchwad.

While it’s unclear if those hoardings had an effect on Shivde, it certainly irked the Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation and the Pune police. And officer explained how they made head or tail of the situation and caught hold of Khedekar,

“When we received some complaints that some illegal hoardings have been put up, we started inquiring. We visited number of flex printing firms and from one of those firms, we got a contact of a person. The person was identified as Vilas Shinde who turned out to be the friend of Khedekar. Shinde told us that Khedekar had given him the task to put up those hoardings and banners.”

Khedekar’s task of apologising has backfired royally as the PCMC officials are planning to penalise him for defacing the locality.

While Pune residents found the hoardings to be baffling, netizens thought that the whole thing was utterly ridiculous and hilarious.

1. That’s miles better.

2. No doubts about that after this stunt.

3. That’s what Shivde said?

4. Facts, facts and only facts.

5. Don’t encourage him!

In the age of social media and smartphones, I think there are many other ways to apologise that doesn’t involve hoardings. That said, although we don’t know what happened between Khedekar and Shivde, we can hope that they’ll resolve it soon after this fiasco.
