Meghan Markle’s Long Time Friend Priyanka Chopra Could Be Potential Godmother To The Royal Baby!

A flurry of excitement has taken Britan by storm ever since Meghan Markle’s royal wedding. The now pregnant Markle has constantly been in the news for her cookbook, philanthropy and even a fair few controversies. Amidst rumors of strife between Meghan and Kate Middleton, the royal couple may just choose a close friend as Godmother for the royal baby.

Interestingly, actress Priyanka Chopra is reportedly being considered by Meghan and Prince Harry as their soon-to-arrive baby’s godmother! Royal commentator Andrea Boehlke stated that the former Suits actress and her husband are contemplating more than one godparent for their baby.

“Priyanka Chopra has been mentioned, as has Misha Nonoo, the fashion designer. Lots of people to choose from,” Boehlke quoted reports Metro.

Boehlke further added that stylist Jessica Mulroney (whose daughter was one of Meghan Markle’s bridesmaids) is also on the list of celebs, reportedly compiled by the parents-to-be. Priyanka Chopra and Meghan Markle met while the former was working on Quantico in the US and the latter starred in Suits. Chopra attended the royal wedding at Windsor Castle and her friendship with Markle has been going strong since Meghan’s pre-Harry days.

When the Kensington Palace issued a statement announcing Meghan Markle’s pregnancy, Pee Cee went on record to say-

“I would, as a friend, just say that I’m really excited for her.”

Indeed, the Desi girl was among the first to congratulate Markle on the release of her cookbook in this Instagram post- “So proud of you for this new endeavor Meghan. This is everything you always stood for. Women supporting women. Supporting communities. Bringing Togetherness.”

Earlier, Priyanka penned an essay on Meghan Markle when the Time Magazine included the latter in its list of 100 Most Influential People. “Meghan, standing shoulder to shoulder with Harry, will be a princess for the people,” Priyanka wrote reports NDTV.

If you’ve been fans of Markle ever since her Suits days, you will recall Priyanka famously corrected a talk show host. When the host characterized Meghan just as “Prince Harry’s girlfriend,” Chopra had been quick to retort-

“Also, Meghan Markle, actress, Suits, her achievements. Just saying.”
