The world was first left dumbfounded with the confidence, charisma and immaculate charm of a 17-year-old, casting a binding spell in the 2000 Miss World Pageant. Woman of a few words, a self-made independent actor/singer/producer/influencer – the world knows her as THE Priyanka Chorpa…but to us, our dear desi girl is our home-girl, whom we have fallen irrevocably in love with.
Priyanka’s story is one for the books. Extremely articulate and brimming with fortitude, PC has carved her own golden path to success and written her own destiny. PC is a megastar and she is the ONLY one who can take credit of her own success.

1. Too much has been said about how a woman needs to find a partner after she gets to a certain age. Actresses especially, get bombarded with the questions of who they are dating. But why?
Priyanka’s words have the power to empower any woman who has ever been told that she needs a man to look after her. No, she doesn’t.
2. Priyanka is an ambitious woman. She is living her dream. From being a director’s muse to being an independent producer – Priyanka Chopra has achieved so much and is still going strong. Talking about her dreams, she said –
In Vogue’s 73 questions interview, when she was asked where does she picture herself 10 years from now, she simply quipped –
“To global domination.”
3. She is a determined, hard working woman. I mean, we have witnessed her marching from events to events, night after night. Priyanka is proud of her struggles and that’s what makes her stand out!
“My career is the sum of the decisions I have made. Everyone can work hard, but I work on my own terms.”
4. Priyanka is a proud Indian at heart. She has always gone ahead and shattered all Indian stereotypes that come with the brown skin.
5. Speaking of brown skin, Priyanka is proud of her colour, heritage and culture. She has always spoken about how comfortable she feels in her own skin and it’s a lesson, every woman should bookmark.
“[MY SKIN] IS AS COMPLICATED AS I AM. WHEN I WAS GROWING UP, I DIDN’T SEE ANYONE ON TELEVISION WHO LOOKED LIKE ME. INITIALLY COMPANIES DIDN’T HAVE COLOURS THAT MATCHED ASIAN OR INDIAN SKIN.”
6. Priyanka has spoken about being bullied as a young kid in America. She has empowered girls to not be belittled by anyone.
“There was this girl who was a major bully…..She made my life hell. She used to call me names and would push me against the locker.”
7. She knows how to tackle trolls. Remember the time when people bashed her for showing legs while meeting PM Modi in Berlin? Well, she did not let it affect her and in fact, gave them a befitting reply!
8. Unlike any other celebrity, she is not guarded. She is flamboyant and that’s what we adore about her. She is just a regular girl with an extraordinary talent. She speaks about her exs and she spills dirty secrets, just like all of us –
9. Priyanka cherishes her family more than anything else. She has always credited her mom and dad for her success and has been grateful to them. She is connected to her roots and that is just another reason to respect her!
