‘Music Has No Boundaries’ Pakistan Minister Offers His Condolences For Lata Mangeshkar

Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was like the unifying force of our country. People, irrespective of their social status, religion, caste and creed grew up listening to her songs. Schools across the nation sing Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon unanimously on Independence day. Lovers, young and old, sway to Lag Ja Gale on a rainy afternoon. That’s the power of her music – it connects people even when they don’t know it.

The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry, paid his respects to the musical legend after she passed away yesterday at the age of 92. According to News18, taking to Twitter, the minister wrote, “Lata Mangeshkar’s death marks the end of an era of music. She ruled the world for decades and the magic of her voice will live on in the world. Wherever Urdu is spoken and understood, those who say goodbye to Lata Mangeshkar is crowded.”

The fact that a minister from our neighbouring country shared such kind words for Lata Mangeshkar was truly heartwarming.

Divided by borders, united by music. 🙂
