OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Gets Removed From His Company As Board No Longer Has Confidence In Him

In case you did not know, Sam Altman is an American entrepreneur and investor who was serving as the CEO of OpenAI, the company that launched ChatGPT. Altman was the CEO from 2020 but suddenly, he was removed from his position recently.

That’s right. According to Moneycontrol, the world of technology woke up to a shock after the news of Sam Altman being removed as the CEO of OpenAI made headlines.

Altman took to X (formerly Twitter) to address this incident and wrote, “Today was a weird experience in many ways. But one unexpected one is that it has been sorta like reading your own eulogy while you’re still alive.”

However, the reason behind Altman’s dismissal is very ambiguous. According to Indian Express, Altman was removed from his position as CEO by the board of directors following a deliberative review process in which it was found that he was “not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities.”

“The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI.”

Mira Murati, a 34-year-old woman who earlier served as the Chief Technical Officer of OpenAI has now been designated as the interim CEO. She has been described as the “brilliant mind” who was responsible for the creation of ChatGPT and DALL-E.

This truly comes as a shocker!
