After The ₹ 9.15 Lakh Bill, Ola Charged This Man ₹ 83,000 For A Mumbai-Pune Return Trip!

Ola desperately needs an upgrade to their trip calculation software. After Ola Hyderabad mistakenly charged a man ₹ 9.15 lakh for a 450 km trip, now it’s Ola Mumbai who has grossly overcharged a passenger.

Ghatkopar resident Kamal Bhatia booked an Ola Intercity for a roundtrip to Pune.. When the trip ended, he was charged a total of ₹ 83,395 for just a 300 km trip!

Mr. Bhatia left with his family from Mumbai at 6:30 am, and returned from a wedding in Pune back home at 9:25 pm. Upon ending the trip, the total showed ₹ 83,395. The app showed that Bhatia had travelled 7,092 km. Upon arguing, the driver called Ola customer care.

Even though the bill was rectified by the Ola personnel, they apologised and waived off the entire amount for Mr. Bhatia.

The Ola personnel argued for over 30 minutes, and Bhatia even had to talk to a senior co-ordinator. This was a clear software error on Ola’s part, and it is evident that they need serious work and upgrades on it so that such issue don’t repeat in the future.

Hopefully, future app and backend updates might resolve this issue.
