The plane took off from Nepal’s capital Kathmandu and was on its way to Pokhara when it caught fire mid-air, crashed on the ground, and then burst into flames.
After the tragic incident, a video that captures the final moments before the plane caught fire, has made it to the internet.
In the video, one can see an Indian national, enjoying his view from the window of the plane as it smoothly flies in the air.
The man pans the camera toward the window and shows how the flight circles over the city for a couple of minutes before they experience massive turbulence.
Suddenly, there was an explosion. Toward the end of the video, one can see the flames of the fire that enveloped the plane mid-air, soon after which it crashed into a gorge and turned into a ball of fire.

Another visual that was shot from land shows how the airplane first caught fire, then after flying for a couple of minutes it tilted and then crashed. Just after a couple of minutes, the plane blew up and nothing but clouds of black smoke could be seen coming from the accident spot.

The world mourned the passing away of people in this unfortunate accident.
Anju Khatiwada, co-pilot of the ill-fated #YetiAirlines, was just few seconds away from landing & fulfilling the requirement to become a Captain. Tragically, her husband (also a co-pilot) had died in a plane crash in 2006. What a terrible & cruel twist of fate 😢 #NepalPlaneCrash pic.twitter.com/w1TpJ0Tl6a

Some people speculated that the man using mobile data while on the flight might also be a cause of the fatal crash.
Dear a-holes who are saying the phone can be used in flight mode, this phone was not on flight mode. He was live streaming which means he was connected to the internet which probably cause an interference with the aircrafts systems & caused the fucking crash. Morons.
— Mona Ambegaonkar (@MonaAmbegaonkar) January 16, 2023
use of mobile not allowed during flight as it interfere with flight electronic system, this could be one of the reason for this fatal accident. We don’t bother for safety and believe in heroism which always leads to fatal accident.

This is what we Indians do. The crew keeps on requesting not to use mobiles (other than flight mode) but we Indians never listen. This is really a shameful act while landing these people were doing FB live. Who knows what has happened with the interference of the signal.

Kya pata ye accident mobile network ki wajah se hi huwa ho…

Life can change within fraction of seconds. Very unfortunate.
Btw during the operation of flight, mobile use is allowed in flight mode.— Jay 🇮🇳 (@SharmaJay23) January 16, 2023
Few years back i flew by Emirates and phone was allowed to use after take of. I have made few call to check charges and call quality.
But may be every flight has its own technical limitation. Not sure mishap happened due to mobile or snag. Rip all who died. Condolences to family.— Prashant (@Prashantst7036) January 16, 2023
This just breaks our hearts. May the departed souls rest in peace.
