Nita Ambani Creates History. Becomes 1st Indian Woman Member Of International Olympic Committee!

Nita Ambani created history in a way by becoming the first Indian woman to be a member of the International Olympics Committee after she was elected by the at the 129th IOC Session in Rio on Thursday.

Nita, who is the founder of the Indian Super League football tournament, is the only only individual member of the committee from India and her appointment shall be valid until she’s 70 years old.

The chairperson of Reliance Foundation has taken major initiative in the fields of sports, health, education as well as art and culture.  Her contribution in promoting various sports in India as well as developing talent throughout the country has been commendable. Her grass root level initiatives in the field of sports have made it possible to reach out to more than 3 million children in various sports.

 

Nita acknowledged the prestige and significance of being elected as the member of the IOC and said that this recognition signifies the growing importance of India in the field of sports.
