While Ghoomar Gets The VFX Treatment Here, America Dances To Its Tunes During An NBA Game

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavati may have been treated like an illegitimate child in his own desh, but most other places welcomed the movie like they would any other Bollywood product, probably even eagerly. The movie got a smooth clearance and released with a ‘U’ certificate in Pakistan. But despite its alleged 26 cuts, a name change and VFX on Deepika’s bare ‘kamar’ in Ghoomar, the movie was met with Karni Sena violence and police protection in theatres.

Which is probably why it is heartening to see the movie receive so much love saat samundar paar, all the way from Amrika!

Cheerleaders at the NBA, National Basketball League, put up a rather lovely performance of Padmaavat‘s Ghoomar song in Charlotte, USA, clad in shimmering desi garb!

The premier men’s pro basketball league has on several occasions added a Bollywood touch to their shows. In fact, our Khilji himself, Ranveer Singh, is a huge fan of the league and has gushed about attending the NBA All-Star Game.

The dancers were rather graceful as they tried to do full justice in their own way to Deepika’s steps during the Charlotte Hornet’s half-time performance, and had they crowds cheering them too!
