Mumbai Police Helps Deliver A Baby At Dadar Railway Station On Christmas Eve

One of the cliches that people expect to take place between 24th and 25th December is the Christmas miracle. You’ve seen it in movies, TV shows and read about it in books so many times that you probably scoff at it every time it’s brought up.

That said, when you do see it take place right in front of your eyes, every bit of cynicism fades away and you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Don’t believe me? Then take a look at this on-the-spot baby delivery at Mumbai’s Dadar station.

According to NDTV, on Christmas eve, 21-YO Geeta Deepak Wagare started experiencing severe labour pains while waiting for her train at Dadar station. And since there was no time to waste, Mumbai police came in clutch to help deliver the baby.

CCTV footage shows Geeta lying on the floor of the platform, with her husband by her side. As soon as she started going into labour, a 24×7 medical assistance team and the Mumbai police rushed in to turn the spot into a make-shift delivery room.

This isn’t the first time such a delivery has been made possible by the Mumbai police at the Dadar station. Because one can never judge the timing of a baby’s arrival. If they want to come into the world, they’ll do so even if they’re in a train.

All jokes apart, soon after the baby’s delivery, the mother and the newly-born baby were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for further care and medical assistance. And according to reports, they’re both fine. So, congratulations to the happy family and a hearty thanks to Mumbai police and the medics who responded to the situation so swiftly.
