Mumbai Neighbourhood Celebrates Return Of Whiskey, A Stray Dog Who Was Missing For A Week

In the Naigaon neighbourhood of Dadar in Mumbai, there lives a stray dog named Whiskey who is immensely loved by the people of the neighbourhood. After the dog went missing for a week, the entire neighbourhood was heartbroken, desperately waiting for Whiskey to come back home. After rigorous searching, Whiskey was finally found at August Kranti maidan, near Wilson college, reported India Today.

But you know what’s the best part? Whiskey returned home in a taxi to find that innumerable people of his neighbourhood were standing on the road to greet him. Those who didn’t come down from their homes, stood in their balconies looking below.

And when Whiskey got down from the car, there was cheering and clapping! The dog was given a hero’s welcome with aarti, flowers and lots of petting. A video of the incident went viral on social media. Have a look:

According to NDTV, Whiskey went missing on February 8 from Prabhadevi. A search operation was launched to track him down. The residents of the neighbourhood also started a social media campaign to find the dog, which lasted a week. The pooch also has an Instagram page!
