In the video, Mukesh Khanna claims that women who outrightly ask men to have sex with them do not belong to a decent society.

Koi bhi ladki agar kisi ladke ko kahe ki, ‘I want to have sex with you’, woh ladki ladki nahi hai, woh dhandha kar rahi hai. Kyunki iss tarah ke nirlaj baatein koi sabhya samaj ki ladki kabhi nhi karegi. Agar woh karti hai toh woh sabhya samaj ki nhi hai. Woh uska dhandha hai,” he says.

This roughly translates to, “If a woman ever tells a man, ‘I want to have sex with you’, then she is not a woman; she is doing business. Because such shameless statements are not made by women who come from a decent society. And if she says things like these then she doesn’t belong to a decent society. She is doing business.”

Here’s a look at the video:

Several people online called him out for his statement as the video was being widely circulated on social media. Here’s what some of them said.

On digging deeper, it was found that this clip is a part of a longer video that was posted on Mukesh Khanna’s YouTube channel where he talks about men getting scammed by women via social media.

The actor tries to spread awareness of the various scams that take place online – one of them being a person pretending to be a woman and seducing men into sharing their private pictures. Once these pictures are given, the person blackmails the man into giving them money.

Even though the message he is trying to spread is important, the way in which the message is delivered is downright sexist because he says things like, “Ek toh mujhe ladkiyon ki nirlajjata pasand nahi aati. Ladkiyaan ladkiyaan hai. Unke apne privilege hai, apni seemayen hai. Unke apni maryada hai, unke apni sanskaar hai. Aap apne maryada mein rahiye, apne sanskaar mein rahiye.”

This roughly translates to, “Firstly, I don’t like women who are shameless. Girls are girls. They have their privilege, their boundaries. They have their values. Please stay within your boundaries and remember your values.”
