MS Dhoni Takes Sensational Diving Catch To Prove That Age Is Just A Number

Ever since making his debut in 2004, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been a phenomenal contributor to Indian cricket. With three ICC trophies and over 15,000 runs in the Indian colors, the stalwart wicket-keeper batsman has registered himself as a true legend of the game.

However, as every good thing comes to an end, Dhoni’s international career seems to be approaching a dead end. At least, according to the BCCI’s selection committee. And we got the first hint of the same when the veteran cricketer was left out of India’s T20 squad against the West Indies.

But wait, Mahi isn’t giving up soon. Hailed as one of the greatest fighters the game has ever seen, MS Dhoni continues to prove his critics wrong, be it with his willow or with the keeping gloves in hand.

If we dig deep into the reason behind Dhoni’s axe, his slow scoring rate and his lack of fitness have been highlighted as two major concerns. But Dhoni being Dhoni, has already proved his haters wrong, with a sensational catch in the third ODI against the Caribbeans.

Left-handed batsman Chanderpaul Hemraj was batting on 15 when he hooked a Jasprit Bumrah delivery high up in the air. MS Dhoni saw the opportunity of a potential catch and gave the ball a hot chase, running back towards the boundary rope. In a peach of a diving effort on the field, Dhoni stuck out his hands to complete the catch which sent the batsman packing.

And guess what? People were convinced that the man was nothing but 37 years young.

As rightly said by Mr. Cricket, Michael Hussey – “You can never write off a champion like MS Dhoni”. 🙂
