After Delhi, MP Cop Dragged On Car’s Bonnet While Trying To Stop A Traffic Rule Violator

Traffic rules are implemented not just for our safety but also for the safety of other road users. And, while traffic police ensure that there is no violation of rules, it’s our duty to maintain safety while driving on the streets.

Recently, a police personnel was dragged on the bonnet of a car while he was trying to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation in Madhya Pradesh, reports TOI. The incident took place in a busy market area in Jabalpur.

The captured CCTV shows the police officer approaching the vehicle. However, when the car refused to slow down, the official jumped on to the bonnet to save himself. The vehicle then dragged the cop along for a brief distance before he fell down. The officer even sustained injuries.

Vijay Tiwari, Station House Officer, was quoted saying by News18,
“A Sub-Inspector named Surendra Yadav was dragged on the bonnet of a vehicle after he attempted to stop it for violation of traffic rule. As the official was trained, he held the bonnet to save himself but when the driver increased the speed of the car he fell on the ground due to which he got injuries on hands.”

A case has been registered in the matter. Some time back, in a similar incident, an on-duty traffic constable was dragged on the bonnet of a car in Delhi.
It’s disheartening and concerning to see citizens violate rules and risk the lives of cops to escape punishments. It’s important that we follow traffic norms to ensure the safety of everybody around us.
