Mumbai’s Misal Pav Just Won The Title of “World’s Tastiest Vegetarian Dish”

At a dark time when the entire population of India is depressed over the sad demise of maggi, here is a good news that will brighten your mood! Our very own misal pav, the authentic Maharashtrian snack, just got the first place for being the ‘tastiest vegetarian dish in the world’.

Recently, at the the Foodie Hub Global Awards held in London, this dish won the award for it’s “wonderful textural colours and contrasts”. Generally, a spicy curry called ‘misal’, garnished with chopped onions, tomatoes, coriander and a dash of lemon, is served with pav, the very famous local bread of Maharashtra.

Though there are several recipes, the one from the Aaswad restaurant in Dadar, Mumbai, won the title, beating many other competitors from around the world.
