There are people who are born with a silver spoon in their mouth. And, very few out of such people refrain from enjoying the riches served on a platter and decide to make it on their own despite having to leave behind comfort and luxury. One such 19-year-old boy, Dwarkesh from Padra, Gujarat ran away from his home to prove his potential in the real world a month back.
The son of an oil-trader in Gujarat, Dwarkesh, disliked studies and wanted to make it big without the support of his millionaire father.
“The boy had left his mobile phone at home. All we had to hunt for him were CCTV camera footage of Vadodara railway station and an auto-rickshaw driver’s statement who had dropped him at Akshar Chowk in Vadodara city,” police told TOI.
He reached Delhi from Vadodara and took a train to Shimla with the hope of finding a job there. He kept on washing dishes at local eateries in the city and slept on the streets to keep himself going for a month until a hotel manager figured out his identity.
Looking at his young age, the hotel manager smelled something
identity card. Realizing that he belonged to Padra, he googled the contact number of the police station of the village and informed the police about the 19-year-old. On checking the picture of the identity card that he had shared with the police, the police realized that it belonged to the same guy they were looking for since several days.Constable Sanjaysinh Gohil and Bhupendrasinh Mahida from Gujarat police were in Himachal Pradesh for their family vacations. The two constables went to the hotel but could not find Dwarkesh as he had allegedly already left the hotel by that time. Later on, the constables called all the small eateries in the city and informed them about the lost teenager and shared his pictures with them.
Later at night, Dwarkesh was spotted by a Taxi driver, sleeping on the roadside. He immediately informed the police and Dwarkesh was finally located. He told the police that he disliked studies so he had left his home. “It is a big relief for us as our son has been found. It was a very difficult time for the entire family,” his parents told Times Now.
Dwarkesh’s story caught the eye of Indian industrialist Anand Mahindra and he has offered an internship to Dwarkesh to try his luck and potential in the corporate world.
Doing a Sunday catch-up on my reading. I admire this young man.. He wanted to strike out on his own. He may seem just like an eccentric runaway, but he could also be tomorrow’s successful, independent entrepreneur. I’d be happy to offer him an internship at @MahindraRise ! https://t.co/0QnFG0ZyDz
