Marriage is subjective. There are some like Salman Khan and then there are those who want to get married but don’t believe in the ‘arranged marriage’ concept. Hence, they are either found on online dating apps or matrimonial sites. But this man rejected both of them and decided to advertise himself in a really unique way.
Muhammad Malik, a UK-based bachelor, plastered himself on huge billboards to find a wife and ‘save’ himself from an arranged marriage, reported NDTV. No this isn’t a joke!
The 29-year-old entrepreneur bought several advertising hoardings across Birmingham and even set up a website named ‘Findmalikawife.com’ in a bid to look for a prospective wife. “Save me from an arranged marriage,” read the billboards.
“I just haven’t found the right girl yet. It’s tough out there. I had to get a billboard to get seen!” Mail Online quoted him saying.
According to his website, he is a guy living in London and considers Birmingham his second home. He loves food, good bants, and learning more about his own faith. In the ‘What I’m looking for’ section, he pens:
“My ideal partner would be a Muslim woman in her 20s, who’s striving to better her deen. I’m open to any ethnicity but I’ve got a loud Punjabi family – so you’d need to keep with the bants. Always personality and faith over anything else! P.S I’m an only child and look after my mom and dad. If this is a deal-breaker I don’t think it’ll work out.”
Thinking if this is a joke? Well, certainly not.
“I’m serious. I’ve been searching for a partner who’ll work with me to grow our love for each other and Allah. If this sounds like you please get in touch.”

Looking at his over-the-top idea to find a wife, one might think he would be against arranged marriage. Responding to this FAQ on his site, he wrote, “Not at all! I think arranged marriages have a place and tradition in many Islamic cultures. In fact, there are many studies that show that arranged marriages have many advantages. I just want to try and find someone on my own first.”
