Gone are the days when people used to create chaos over caste and creed in the country and make a hullaballoo about ‘untouchability’. Or so we thought. Sadly, our country still has many people who do not like to accept water and food or share the same space with people belonging to other castes. And such cringeworthy incidences often come to light, thanks to the online food delivery apps!
In one such case, a customer ordered food from Zomato and the delivery executive assigned to drop the order belonged to a non-hindu religion. So, the customer took to Twitter to complain about the same and shared the screenshots of his chat where a company executive refused to assign him a different delivery guy.
“Just canceled order on ZomatoIN. They allocated a non-hindu rider for my food they said they can’t change rider and can’t refund on cancellation I said you can’t force me to take delivery I don’t want don’t refund just cancel,” he wrote.

Zomato came up with a fitting reply to the customer. They wrote:
Food doesn’t have a religion. It is a religion. https://t.co/H8P5FlAw6y

Founder of the food delivery app, Deepinder Goyal also supported his company’s response and said that they are not sorry to lose business that comes in the way of their values.

We cannot agree more! Food surely doesn’t have a religion but it is a religion! What’s your take on the entire incident?
