Boyfriend Drowns After Underwater Proposal, “Best Day Turned Into Worst”, Writes GF!

Fancy marriage proposals are a trend these days. From a man who proposed his girlfriend inside a heart made out of 99 iPhones to a couple who fell to death while proposing each other at a national park in California, stories of fancy proposals and their drastic fails are plenty.

In one such recent incident, Steven Weber decided to pop the question to his girlfriend Kenesha Antoine in an extremely unique way. The couple was holidaying at Pemba Island, off the east coast of Africa. Steven dived in the ocean and reached the window of their submerged cabin with a ring and note for his girlfriend.

“I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. But… Everything I love,” the note read.

Steve then tried to swim back to the surface but he never made it back to the top, reports CNN.

Kenesha shared the video of Steven where he is seen proposing mid-ocean. Sharing the last moments of her boyfriend, a heartbroken Kenesha wrote,

“You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, “Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!” We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst, in the cruelest twist of fate imaginable.”

“There are no words adequate enough to honor the beautiful soul that is Steven Weber, Jr. You were a bright light to everyone you encountered. You never met a stranger, and you brought so much joy to so many people. You were kind, compassionate, you regularly made me cry with laughter, and you showered me with a love like none I’d ever experienced,” she added.

This isn’t the first time that an adventurous proposal has gone wrong so drastically. A couple of years back, a woman fell to death after jumping with joy as her boyfriend proposed marriage at a 65ft high cliff.
