Hoardings are generally used by brands to market their product or service. But sometimes, people use them for personal reasons as well. Like the sons who put up their father’s photo and number on a huge billboard and asked everyone to wish him a happy birthday! Or the Indonesian man who announced his break up on one!
Josh Wilson, a resident of Oklahoma, bought space on eight billboards in Tulsa to promote his business ‘Living Water Irrigation’. But when they failed to generate adequate leads, he decided to write “Amy I love you more” on them for his wife.
ABC News quoted him saying,
“I decided I wanted to tell the world and tell my wife how much I love her in front of everybody. She tolerates me and lets me build this little company and lets us have fun. It’s the least I could do to tell her I love her.”
He further added that there was no specific reason for his declaration. Not a birthday, anniversary or even a fight.
“I wasn’t in any trouble. Every guy who has called me thought for sure I was in the dog house and in trouble, and I just for sure simply wanted to tell my wife that I loved her. I’m just in love with my wife.”
His gesture has put pressure on other husbands in the area to do something extra special for their wives. What do you make of it – is it super sweet or OTT?
