Car Enthusiast Prints Fake Cheques At Home To Buy A Porsche & Rolex Watches, Gets Arrested

Most of us movie buffs would remember the 2005 movie ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ wherein the two criminals, played by Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, dupe business houses and con rich people to live a luxurious life. Well, I think, we just found a real-life Bunty who printed fake cheques to buy himself items of luxury.

Casey William Kelley hailing from Florida was put behind bars for allegedly buying a luxury car by giving a false banknote to the company that he printed from his home computer, reported Times Now.

According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Casey handed over a cashier’s cheque and drove off a brand new Porsche 911. However, the company soon came to know that the $139,203.05 (Rs1 crore 4 lakh approx) cheque given by Casey was fake. They then filed a report at the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and reported the car as stolen. Casey was soon put behind bars and was charged with grand theft, reported Mail Online.

What’s interesting is that Casey didn’t just stop at buying the German sports car with the fake banknotes. Apparently, after buying the car, he went to a jewellery shop and used another fake cheque to buy three Rolex watches worth $61,521 (Rs 46 lakh approx.).

However, this time the shop owner waited till the cheque got encashed before handing him the expensive watches. Soon, they also learned that Casey was duping them and reported him to the cops. But he was already held for his earlier fraud.

“Casey stated he didn’t know what the big deal was, and that since it was his account number on the check he printed out, it should be fine,” the arrest report stated.

It’s funny how Casey didn’t think it was illegal to print the cheques at home and buy things. Well, regardless of what he believes, he has to serve his time in jail for the fraud done.
