After being separated from Arbaaz Khan in 2016, Malaika Arora has kept her love life under the rug until recently where she openly shared about her relationship with Ishaqzaade-fame Arjun Kapoor.
And while her fans could not be more happy for her, the naysayers and the trolls just can’t shut the Sherlock inside of them, by pointing out to the obvious age gap between the couple.
Malaika Arora, who is 11 years elder to the ‘Chhokra Jawaan’ Arjun, reacts on the mentality of the trolls. In a recent interview with HT Brunch, she retorted that it’s fine with the society if an older man dates a younger girl. But if an older woman dates a younger man than she is ‘desperate’ and a ‘buddhi’.
In her recent Instagram post, Malaika Arora shared a cute picture of the couple on Arjun Kapoor’s birthday. This officially ended the rumors around their relationship, and making them true.
“The age difference doesn’t really pop up when you are in a relationship,” said the actress, adding that,
It is about two minds and hearts connecting. Unfortunately, we live in a society that refuses to progress with time. An older man romancing a younger girl is hailed everywhere, but when the woman is older, she’s called ‘desperate’ and a ‘buddhi’. For people who think like this, I have just one line: Take a flying f***.
When asked about the relationship, Malaika replied that she wasn’t sure if she wanted to be in another relationship. But she decided to take a chance. “I am so glad I did,” she said, “It feels amazing!”
When asked about her near-and-dear ones, including her son, Arhaan Khan’s reaction to their relationship, she replied, “I believe the best way to approach any situation is with honesty. We have had that conversation and I am so glad that everyone is in a much happier and more honest space today.”
Funnily enough, when asked about the ‘big day’, Malaika Arora evaded the request to share any details, stating that it’s “really personal.”
Well, we’re glad that Malaika has finally ended the rumbling curiosity of her relationship and we hope it goes forward. On that note, we also hope that her trolls get the message she so eloquently put out for them: “Take a flying f***”.
