‘FRIENDS’ has been such an iconic television series that it has stood the test of time and is being watched by people even today. The humour in various parts of the show is evergreen and hence, different movies and shows from across the world in various different languages have copied parts from it. Hell, the Hindi television industry tried to make a copy of FRIENDS but failed miserably.
Speaking of which, a Bollywood movie completely copied a scene from FRIENDS head to toe. The film is ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ and the scene is the one where Ross and Phoebe rush to the airport and try to stop Rachel from moving to Paris.
In ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’, Salman Khan basically plays Ross and Arshad Warsi plays Phoebe. Arshad’s character calls Sushmita Sen, who is on a flight, and says that there is something wrong with the left magwheel of the plane – which is the same as Phoebe telling Rachel that there’s something wrong with the plane’s left philange.
Then when Salman and Arshad reach the airport, the latter shouts ‘NAINAAAAA’, just like Phoebe shouted ‘RACHEEEEEEEELLL’.
Instagram user @shefooodie shared a video of the scene from the Bollywood film and hilariously asked, “Am I watching a pirated version of FRIENDS?”
