You know what? Desi wedding guests need to move beyond bed covers and dinner sets while choosing a gift for newlyweds! There are so many better, and useful, gifts to give them. But you know what’s the best gift for not just weddings but for every occasion? Money!
Having said that, a Madurai couple took things the next level and printed a QR code in their wedding invite so that wedding guests can transfer money into their account as a gift! According to News18, they printed two QR codes for both Google Pay and PhonePe.
This way, guests who couldn’t make it for the wedding could at least ‘transfer’ a gift!
“About 30 persons had used the facility and gave cash as their wedding present. This is the first time such a thing has been attempted in our family,” the mother of the bride said.
