Under Unlock 5, the government issued guidelines allowing states and union territories to reopen schools in a graded manner starting October 15. Thereafter, some states are beginning to start physical classes with 50% attendance for older students from Class 9 to 12 after taking written consent from their parents. However, online classes will continue for those who wish to learn from home.
As a result, some kids are negotiating with their parents about going back to school amid the pandemic. Journalist and mom Dhanya Rajendran tweeted what her son said recently.
My son declared that he will go back to school only when India has just 40,000 active COVID-19 cases. Politely informed him that I am the parent in the equation. But don't think he cares

He started with 20k, finally settled for 49

And people online praised the kid for his smart and mature reasoning.
It's interesting to see how young children are aware about this pandemic n it's risks. It's really sad that their childhood is disrupted.
Had an interesting realistic conversation with my niece recently. Think she was more realistic that many adults https://t.co/6hwfDd6GDh

My son wanted me to assemble a desktop for gaming. I have been taking excuse to have 100 cases in Bangalore so that I can go and buy components from SP road.
Now he is using this for school. He wants just 100 cases in Bangalore to go to school— Vats of India (@enggbhatta) October 22, 2020
The kids do have a valid point, don’t you think?
