If there’s anything in abundance on this planet after human beings, it is human stupidity. And the best example of this is when you watch humans perform unnecessary and life-threatening stunts for the sake of momentary thrills. Wait, why am I still talking about this when I can pretty much show a similar stunt to you?
A ridiculous stunt video has been going viral on social media, showing a Kashmiri man lying down between tracks, waiting for the train to pass over him. The train does its thing and once it has passed, the man gets up, euphoric victory reigning over his face.
Strict action need against these insane guys. Video needs no caption. #Kashmir . Cc @MehboobaMufti @spvaid @JmuKmrPolice @OmarAbdullah pic.twitter.com/eaJNRnaBos

What’s even more disturbing is that there is someone who is encouraging this madness by capturing the whole stupid stunt on video!
The Twitter user who shared the original video on Twitter had tagged the Jammu & Kashmir police’s Twitter handle as well as former J&K CM Omar Abdullah in his tweet. The latter shared the video and rebuked the moronic individuals involved.
There is something drastically wrong with this sort of adventure seeking. I can’t believe the stupidity of these young men. pic.twitter.com/83lLWanozR

If watching the video has made your blood boil, then you’re not alone. Twitter has been taken by storm by this idiotic attempt at thrill-seeking and many are equally outraged.
1. Shouldn’t this count as an attempt to suicide?
Rather madness. The law enforcing authorities must take action against such people. Tantamount to attempted suicide (Section 309 of RPC). We lose our youth to violence, traffic accidents and other mishaps on daily basis. Can't afford further loss.

2. Phiran is the traditional garb worn by the Kashmiris. Not some super suit that makes them invincible.

3. Hey Einstein, high five bro.
Einstein was spot on when he said about the infiniteness of human stupidity 🙂

4. IKR!
You'd think there were enough challenges in Kashmir (assuming its Kashmir)

5. Arrest him!
He should be arrested for promoting these kind of attitude in the country

6. One madman encouraging another.
They should be punished. And who is the mad person holding the phone. This can set an extremely dangerous precedent #GodSaveUs https://t.co/lCP8AJ6pWH

7. Word.
This is not adventure but stupidity. https://t.co/CflFXJBncV

8. The directionless young!
Everyone needs external validation sir, everyone does something or try to, to gain that ! Put them to a bigger cause. It is a failure of our leadership that youth has to do all these to earn validations from peers
— getdips (@getdips) January 24, 2018
There was also a somewhat dark humourous twist that some Twitter users were able to spot!
1. Remember when that poop from a plane landed in a field and was thought to be a meteor? Well, something similar but all the more disgusting could happen here too!
It's all fun and games until someone on the train uses the loo.
— Narasinga (@syrinje) January 23, 2018
2. Shit should’ve happened!
I'd be more worried about the shit from the train, tbh https://t.co/X73emNWo3g

3. I’m pretty sure this kind of an adventure would taste like shit!
Wat if someone would have pooped in train it would have dropped on this guy's head . Bhai ko taste mil jata adventure ka

Humour notwithstanding, the unsettling reality cannot be overlooked here. A young man is putting his life at risk for a momentary rush of adrenaline? To what end? What if his phiran had gotten caught in the cogs of the train? What of the man driving the train, who’d have to live with the harsh reality that someone was killed on his watch? Would that friend be able to forgive himself for supporting this insanity? How would the family members deal?
Maybe the way to teach these misguided boys a lesson is not by imprisoning them but by making them realise the gravity of these questions.
Then again, remember what George Bernard Shaw said, “Youth is wasted on the young.”
