Frozen Object Fallen From Sky In Gurgaon Thought To Be Meteor, Turns Out To Be Poop From A Plane!

All that glitters is not gold; sometimes it could be shit.

Okay, so that’s probably not how the saying goes, but wait till you hear what happened in this Indian village and you’ll probably start setting store by this one!

Apparently, on Saturday morning, an unidentified object dropped from the sky into a wheat field in Fazilpur Badli village in Pataudi, Gurgaon. The object, which appeared to be frozen solid, caused a foot-deep crater in the field where it landed.

According to Hindustan Times, the field belonged to one Balwan, who then informed the Sarpanch and local authorities of this seemingly ‘other=worldly’ object that had fallen with a loud noise in his field. Soon, villagers gathered around to ponder what the suspicious thing was.

The ice-cube like object weighed about 8kg and seemed to have broken on impact with the ground. When they couldn’t fathom what it was, the police had no choice but to call in the big guns—The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Speculations were rife that it was a meteor, and this peaked the villagers’ curiosity even more.

Eventually, the frozen object began to melt and finally reveal its true nature.

Now remember the very first thing I said? All that glitters…. Well, in this case, all that glittered was not a meteor but in fact literally shit!

The IMD upon prima facie examinations confirmed that the unidentified object and the centre of everyone’s fancy was in fact not a meteor but human excreta!

In other words,

As to how the sky happened to ‘poop’ in the field, assumptions are that the meteor excreta must’ve fallen from an aircraft while it was passing by due to a leak in its waste storage!

According to SP Bhan, an IMD official,

“It was not meteor of course because meteor is a solid object and cannot melt. The object we found there was as transparent as ice and it could be ice or human excreta. After chemical analysis of the object we can be sure of what it was.”

Oh well, this was a clear case of much ado about nothing. But then again, shit happens! So it did in this case, quite literally!
