Massive outrage broke out yesterday on social media after a video of famous hairstylist Jawed Habib went viral where he could be seen spitting on a woman’s hair while giving her a haircut. The incident happened at a seminar in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Even the National Commission for Women promised appropriate action against him.
After facing backlash, Jawed Habib took to Instagram to post a video issuing an apology. He tried to justify the incident by saying that when such seminar sessions run for too long, they use humour to lighten the mood.

India Today quoted him saying:
“Some words spoken by me during my seminar have hurt a few people. I just want to say one thing these are professional workshops, as in, they are attended by people from within our profession. When these sessions get very long, we have to make them humorous. What can I say? If you are truly hurt, I apologise from the bottom of my heart. Please forgive me, I am sorry.”

Considering that several people amongst the audience laughed when Habib did what he did, we just hope people don’t get inspired to do the same.
