Jacqueline Fernandez Reveals She Had Food Issues In Her 20s, Would Punish Herself For Eating

There are a lot of secrets in the world of glitz and glamour. Models and actors whom you see are in perfect shape look so because they have a team working to make them look the way they do. They have dieticians, fitness trainers, hair and makeup artists, designers, etc. who are at their beck and call. They make sure that the celebrities look their best at all times.

But behind the scenes, the reality is very different. Celebrities deal with several issues of their own. For example, the ever-gorgeous and fit looking Jacqueline Fernandez revealed that she suffered from food issues when she was in her 20s. She would feel guilty for eating and treated food like the “enemy”.

“In my 20s I did go through quite a lot of eating issues. A lot. It happened because of my pageant days, I did not realise then but to be appearing on an international platform at the age of 19 (had its own pressures). That is when the pressure really got to me, I did not know how to handle it. Food became the enemy. That then continued in my 20s and continued (when I became an actor) being in front of the camera.”

She further added that she felt like punishing herself for eating and would be very self-conscious when in front of the camera. However, she has overcome it, even though it took time.

“Like (I would worry about) how I am going to look in front of the camera. It was like you would punish yourself for eating. But, I was blessed that I was able to overcome it. Slowly, it took time. There would be times when it would be gone for months and would be okay and then something would happen, and I would go back into the habit. I was quite horrible actually, but it was definitely something that made me stronger and much more aware of food.”

Food is meant to give our body the nourishment it needs. Hence, it is necessary for us all to have a healthy relationship with it.
