You might have seen in movies that a man takes a break from his stereotypical routine, quits his job, and travels the world; a dream that he had harboured in his heart for a long time. You watch that movie which inspires you and you go like, “I wish I could do this too!” But turns out, you never do and you go back to your same old routine. But an Irish man did quite the opposite.
Johnny Ward, an Irish man, who worked in Australia in a sales job. He quit his job and started a media company, that earns $1 Million dollars and Johnny is travelling the world.
Yeah! You read that right. This is the story of his journey that will inspire you by leaps and bounds.
Raised by a single mother in Northern Ireland, Â the family faced financial troubles. He knew the importance of money and the anxiety of going broke was always there in his head.
After his graduation, he landed a steady and a high-paying job in Australia. But he always thought “Something’s missing.”
Working in a sales job, he earned $20,000 monthly, but there was no sense of fulfillment.
It was then that he decided to quit his job and travel the world
The company offered him a higher position, double the salary, that made Johnny stay for 4 months more, but eventually, he quit. And then he booked a one-way ticket to Zimbabwe.
But before that, he set up his website- a travel blog named OneStep4Ward, to document the exploring.
While he was doing that, an idea struck.
While he was embarking on his journey of travelling every country, he used the insights of OneStep$Ward to create an online media company, Step4Ward Media.
And then, there was no looking back! His company offers web services like creating content and managing SEO. The company has earned $1 Million dollars, as of now.

He has visited over 140 countries as of now! And he has some advice for people who don’t take the plunge of following their dreams and why they should maintain a personal blog.
He recounts  his experience:
I worry in the social media age, people get so caught up in creating inspirational memes and oversharing when you just gotta do it. I love to read that stuff, but you need to draw a line in the sand and say, ‘Now I’m going to do it.’ You can get caught up in the online hyperbole. I tell people you don’t need to make $1 million. Initially you can make $1 or $10 or $50, and have that money in your Paypal and then be like, ‘Wow, this is actually possible.’
No matter how you plan to make money online, always start a blog, even if you’re not going to monetize. Have a voice, be an authority. I think having a blog is so integral to that movement.
Isn’t this inspiring? He chose a non-traditional path to make money and then follow his dreams.
