Hyderabad Doctor Gives Valuable Health Advice To Guy Who Works 16 Hours A Day

There is a reason why many corporate employees are called ‘corporate slaves’. They are made to work insanely long hours and made to do the work meant for 2-3 people. A lot of them have complained about not earning as much as they are made to work. Hence, a good chunk of the lot ends up with mental and physical health issues like burnout, high blood pressure, stress, anxiety, etc.

A 37-year-old man named Harshal tweeted to a doctor named Dr Sudhir Kumar, a Neurologist at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad, and said that he is working a corporate job and has been putting in 16-17 hours of work daily for the past 6 months. A normal blood pressure reading is about 120/80, whereas his is 150/90 – leaning on the higher side.

He further asked the doctor for advice.

Dr Sudhir didn’t beat around the bush and gave a very direct solution – cut his work by half and ask the authorities to hire another person because he is doing the job of two people.

A while later, the guy alleged that he quit his job after having a bizarre altercation with his boss.

Dr Sudhir, in his response to Harshal, also asked him to check out his pinned tweet on his Twitter profile. As it turns out, a 35-year-old patient had asked the doctor to prescribe him medicine to prevent a stroke. To him, the doctor prescribed ‘6 pills’.

They were, 7-8 hours of sleep at night, 30-40 minutes brisk walking and aiming for 10,000 steps a day, fruit and vegetable intake, reducing working hours to 8-9 hours a day, reducing stress and complete abstinence from alcohol. Have a look:

In today’s age, many young people, especially those in their 30s, are being diagnosed with serious health issues. In a lot of cases, the problems have risen from work pressure. Hence, those stuck in this toxic work culture can seriously think about taking the doctor’s advice for better health and lifestyle.
