Hyderabad Man Steals A Harley-Davidson Bike Worth Rs 5.7 Lakhs By Taking A Test Ride

A true bike lover saves for months to secure the down payment for their dream bike and spend another few months in paying the EMI. Yet not everyone follows this ‘work hard and thou shall receive’ regime. There are a few who prefer taking the easier path or a shortcut if you may.

Like this man in Hyderabad who just walked into the Harley-Davidson showroom in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad around 3 pm on Tuesday and wanted to take Street 750 on a test drive.

He appeared to be in his thirties and introduced himself as a software professional. He submitted his id, gave his office address and mobile number.

However, he did not take the usual route of the test drive and disappeared in the traffic. While the showroom management waited for him, minutes turned into hours and he never returned.

Later when they checked and tried to track him they discovered that he had submitted a fake id and mobile number. He said that his name was Tahir Ali. The Banjara Hills police booked a case against him under Sections 379 (theft) and Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.

This bike is worth almost Rs 5.7 lakhs and the store management is waiting for the police to find the culprit.

If I was the thief of this bike, I would drive away so far away that no one could ever find me. But after all it is Street 750, where it will go, eyeballs are bound to follow!
