12 Hair Mistakes That Can Make You Look Older Than You Are

There are things you do and things you don’t do as you get older. As you mature, your hair matures with you. In the constant race of looking younger (yes, everybody want to) we subject our hair to cruelties. To avoid doing so and still look younger, there are a few things you should take care of.

Here are a few hair mistakes with ways to rectify them!

1. Chopping off your hair without considering your facial structure

Doing so can add a few years to your look.

Don’t worry, if you cannot stop yourself from being attracted to the scissors, just decide an optimum length the matches the length of your face.

 

2. Growing your hair out for too long

Excessive length can drag hair down, pulling your features along with it.

Don’t worry, just muster up the courage to let the scissors get to a nice healthy length that is between collar bones and shoulder length. This way your hair stays long and have a youthful swing.

 

3. Overbleaching your hair

For fair people, overbleaching your hair to a pristine blonde or grey can blend into their skin tone.

Don’t worry, just chose a slightly brighter tinge than the pristine white. Give it a golden hue instead of a peroxide blonde depending upon your complexion.

 

4. “It’s too dark!”

Keeping the tone of the hair  in one dark shade can make the skin blemishes become more pronounced.

Don’t worry, it’s easy to tone down the darkness of the color by adding a few highlights that give your hair some texture. If you don’t want highlights, opt for a soft brown or burgundy.

 

5. Like uncooked spaghetti

Keeping your tresses in one length all over can make them look limp and frail.

Don’t worry, giving your hair multiple layers of different lengths give them volume and makes hair look healthier.

 

6. Too much product is a no-no

Using too much product strips your hair of all their moisture and makes them very dry and lifeless. Using too less product exposes you to physical damages to the hair due to the quality of water and the intensity of the sun.

7. Shampoo is not everything

Don’t worry, if you love it too much, at least, try to find variations in them to make them look younger.

 

10. Don’t go for the wrong haircut just because it’s unique

Getting a haircut that does not suit your complexion or the shape of your face can be a disaster.

11. Tight, tight, tight!

Pulling up all your hair in a tight hairstyle exposes the hairline and puts too much pressure on the hair roots.

Don’t worry, just let your hair loose. A few strands here and there around your face will make your look instantly softer.

 

12. Avoid over-styling your hair

Ironing and curling your hair regularly makes them frizzy. Over exposure of heat can compromise the quality of your hair and make them more prone to breakage. It damages hair due to over exposure to heat, chemical and friction.
