Gautam Singhania, billionaire industrialist and the chairman of Raymond, recently announced that he is separating from his wife of 32 years, Nawaz Modi Singhania. He took to social media to make the official announcement. This comes after an intriguing incident occurred in Thane, Mumbai, during the festival of Diwali.
Videos of Nawaz Modi Singhania not being allowed inside her husband Gautam Singhania’s Diwali Party surfaced online, reported Moneycontrol. In the videos, one can see how the gates to the venue were closed and despite Nawaz trying to argue her way into the party, she wasn’t allowed inside.
“We are at the Thane gate, JK Gram, for a party that I was invited to and now I am stopped from entering. The strongman, Chandrakant here, who handles the cops and everyone else, and the rest of the gate people are stopping me at the gate,” Nawaz says in one of the videos.

Following this incident, Gautam Singhania announced his separation from his wife on social media.
“This Diwali is not going to be the same as many in the past. It is my belief that Nawaz and I will pursue different paths from here on. 32 years of being together as a couple, growing as parents and always being a strength of each other… we traversed with commitment, resolve, faith as along came the two most beautiful additions in our lives.”
He further revealed that he and Nawaz would be co-parenting their two daughters, Niharika and Nisa.
“As I reflect over the unfortunate developments in the recent past, there has been a lot of unsubstantiated rumour mongering, and gossip surrounding our lives fanned by ‘not so well wishers’. I am parting ways with her while we continue to do what is the best for our two precious diamonds Niharika and Nisa. Please respect this personal decision and kindly give us the space to settle all aspects of the relationship. Seeking your best wishes for the entire family during these times.”

Who is Nawaz Modi Singhania?
She is the daughter of well-known lawyer Nadar Modi. She is 53 years old, is a fitness coach and runs a fitness studio in South Bombay. She is also the author of the book ‘Pause, Rewind’ and has a podcast on Spotify named ‘Fitness with Body Art’, reported India Today. She got married to the Raymond Chairman in 1999.
