Father Son Duo To Travel From Guwahati To London, Across 16 Countries To Unite The World

Riding bikes is a passion for many people across the world. Some like to race on them to achieve the purest form of adrenaline rush. Others like to take it slow through scenic routes to enjoy the purring of the motor between their feet. However, there are only a few that combine this passion to fuel a message that our society needs, and G.V. Prasad and his group of bike riders certainly fall into that category.

According to NDTV, G.V. Prasad, will be embarking on a 55-day journey with his son to voice their message on unity among people. He said,

“We are six riders from India including my son Rakshit and I. Both of us will start from Hyderabad on 24th April and meet the rest in Guwahati on 28th April. Together we will pass 16 countries and finally reach London after 55 days of travel, out of which 42 days will be for rest.”

The idea of taking part in this journey with four other riders from different parts of India (Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Coimbatore) is in tune with his message of universal brotherhood. Their adventure will begin next week from Guwahati and end in London. Some of the countries that’ll fall in their path include Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, China, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Apart from being a biking enthusiast, G.V. Prasad is also the Chairman and Managing Director of PathCare Labs. His son, Rakshith is a medical student who has inherited his father’s love for biking and is ready to follow him anywhere he goes.

While the urge to embark on this epic quest comes from Prasad’s life-long love for driving, his main motive is to know the people of these countries and bring them together as one family.

“Wherever we go, we will try to meet people, sit with the locals. Our riding kilometres per day is very low, about 300-400 kms which we’ll cover in in 5-6 hours. In the time available, we will spend with the local people.”

It’s relieving to see that during a time when people are being discriminated and divided in various ways, some of us are trying to unite humanity. While most of us won’t have the time or money to ride across the country, we should take G.V. Prasad’s example and make attempts to create a sustainable bond in our society. Additionally, as Prasad’s journey is bound to be a long and arduous one, we hope he manages to complete it safely.
