Bengali Textbook Uses Farhan Akhtar’s Picture To Depict Milkha Singh, Actor Urges It To Be Changed

Bollywood actor and director Farhan Akhtar is a man of high morals. Apart from his glorious records in the film industry, the 44-year-old is known for raising his voice for the legitimate. And quite expectedly, Farhan gave us another moment to root for him.

It all started with a Twitter user sharing an image of a Bengali textbook, carrying knowledge on legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh. However, the picture used to depict the sports star was that of Farhan Akhtar. And we are no stranger to the fact that Farhan had portrayed the character of Milkha Singh in ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, a biopic dedicated to the Olympian.

The tweet caught the eye of Farhan himself, who is an active personality on social media platforms. The ‘Rock On’ lead wasted no time in calling out the Minister of School Education, West Bengal, and pointing out the significant mistake. He also urged the book to be republished.

If you notice carefully, Farhan tagged author-politician Derek O’Brien in his post, who is renowned for his efforts to improve the education system in the country. And Derek came up with a reply shortly.

Twitter was all praise for the Bollywood actor and slammed the West Bengal government for the ‘glaring mistake’.

The incident clearly highlights the careless attitude of people who are in charge of review and management of course material. And kudos to Farhan for highlighting the issue.
