Dulquer Salmaan Opens Up About His Love Affair With Wifey & How He First Met Amal

Popular Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan is known for his impactful performances in movies like ‘Ustad Hotel’ and ‘Bangalore Days’. In 2018, he made his Bollywood debut with the movie ‘Karwaan’ opposite ace actor Irrfan Khan. Salmaan, who is the son of South superstar Mammootty impressed movie goers with his performance in the film ‘The Zoya Factor’ alongside Sonam Kapoor.

In a recent interview with Deccan Chronicle, he shared about his love life and how he met his wife Amal Sufiya.

“After I returned from the US, my folks were keen on getting me married. My friends and family suggested the name of one of my schoolmate who was five years my junior. My friends started matching her bio-data with mine.”

“Now, it so happened that on most of my outings, I would notice the same girl there as well. Or at times when I decided to watch a movie, surprisingly, she would also be there watching that same movie and the same show.”

“Since I was bumping into her often unknowingly, I somehow felt it could be some celestial sign that I should get married to her.” (sic)

Finally, the actor asked Amal out for coffee, said a report by Republic World. After he was convinced, he informed his parents about her.

“I informed my parents about this girl. Both the families met and connected immediately. So I can say it is a love-cum-arranged marriage.”

Dulquer Salmaan and Amal then got married in a private ceremony in Chennai in 2011 and have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Maryam Ameerah Salmaan who according to him is ‘very talkative’. “She entertains the entire family throughout the day,” he adds.

When quizzed if his wife gets insecure with all the female attention he gets on social media, the actor reportedly said, “No, not at all. Sometimes I also tell her to comment for me, but it’s like ghar ki murgi dal barabar. However, my wife is very secure.”

On the work front, he was last seen in Tamil film ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’. All the best, Salmaan!
