Brazilian Drug Lord Tries To Escape Prison By Dressing Up Like His 19 Year-Old Daughter!

With so many shows and movies with crime-based stories and prison escapes, we’re sure intrigued by the quick wits, the strategies and the sheer gall of prisoners. Well, here’s another great prison break attempt that’s entertaining AF.

A Rio De-Janiero based drug trafficker, Clauvino da Silva attempted a prison break. On Saturday, when his daughter came to meet him, the escape plan was set in motion. The plan was for him to dress up like his 19-year-old daughter, in the hope that he could fool guards and sneak off without being noticed. This including him leaving his daughter in prison.

Rio’s state secretary of prison administration released photos showing da Silva in a silicon girl’s mask and long dark-haired wig, wearing tight jeans and a pink shirt with a cartoon image of donuts. Prison officials said that the nervousness he displayed while getting out of the penitentiary gave him away.

His daughter, Ana Gabriele Leandro da Silva, who had remained behind in the prison as per the plan, wasn’t feeling lucky either. As per the reports, she will be charged with abetting prison escape, a crime punishable with up to two years in prison.

Authorities say Clauvino da Silva, ‘Shorty’, was part of the leadership of the Red Command, one of the most powerful criminal groups in Brazil that controlled drug trafficking in a large part of Rio. He was arrested last month for attempting a prison escape back in 2013, when he was actually able to escape.

Once the news made it to Twitter, hilarious responses to the failed prison break flooded in.

Too bad for Shorty, he wasn’t so lucky the second time!
