Nowadays, we want everything to run at top speed; be it the internet, phones, our cab rides to work or even our careers, everything needs to be running smoothly and speedily. So why should India’s double-decker trains be left behind?
According to DNA, the Indian Railways recently rolled out semi high-speed double-decker trains that can run at a speed of 160 km/hr. This train has been developed by the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, and it is expected to carry more passengers in comparison to other trains and finish a journey in the shortest possible time.
Times Now reports that the coach is equipped with modern facilities, has a better design a capacity of 120 seats. The upper deck can carry 50 passengers while the lower deck can seat 48.
The train has automatic sliding doors, a mini pantry for refreshments, charging sockets, a GPS-based passenger information system and an LED destination board. It also has smoke detectors and CCTV cameras for passengers’ safety.
